The Cape May Point Arts & Science Center is proud to host Estela Romero for a presentation on Monarch conservation. Estela is an environmental educator from Mexico. She is a lifelong resident of the Mexican Monarch Reserve, where for years she has been active in monarch conservation. She has been engaged in environmental education in the schools within the Reserve, and also coordinates with environmental educators in the US and Canada through the Symbolic Monarch Migration and Journey North programs. Her talk, titled, “The Magnificent Migration of Monarchs,” will mix scientific facts with personal and historical anecdotes. She is coming at the invitation of monarch enthusiasts who met her in Mexico and felt that she needed to experience the migration of monarchs through Cape May.
A Monarch tagging demonstration will take place before the beginning of Estela’s presentation at 3:00 PM. This event is free and open to the general public. Donations are highly encouraged and appreciated.
